Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the variables of professional training, job market considerations, and self efficacy have an influence on the interest of students in Palembang City in pursuing a career as public accountants. The theory employed in this research is the Theory of Planned Behavior, using a quantitative research design. The population consists of active accounting students enrolled in universities located in the city, with a total sample of 143 respondents. The analytical technique used is multiple regression analysis with SPSS version 23 to examine the influence of professional training, job market considerations, and self efficacy on the interest in pursuing a career as a public accountant. The results indicate that professional training, job market considerations, and self efficacy have a significant positive effect on the interest in pursuing a career as a public accountant.
