Abstract

Background: Pressure ulcers, or previously known as decubitus, are a serious problem because they can increase costs, length of treatment and slow down the patient's rehabilitation program. Pressure injury can also cause prolonged pain, discomfort, and serious complications leading to sepsis, chronic infections, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, and increase mortality in elderly patients (Marina, Yulanda and Fahdi, 2022, p. 23). Purpose : It is known that giving olive oil can prevent pressure sores in bed rest patients in intensive care rooms using a nursing care approach. Methods: The method in this case study is observational. Data collection was carried out by observing and providing EBP-based interventions. The techniques used included interviews, observation, research scale, and document analysis. The method used in Evidence Based is a case study. Where the subject studied is a certain group by conducting an in-depth investigation of the subject to provide a complete picture. Results: Mrs. R found that the skin looked dry and peeling and itchy, there was a grade 1 scar on the PUSH scale (1), no exudate on the PUSH scale (0), no exudate color on the PUSH scale (0), intact skin tissue on the PUSH scale (0) , Total score (1). Suggestion: The results of this case study can be used as a basis/reference in conducting research with different variables. Especially not only in application, but it is hoped to prevent pressure sores in patients who are on bed rest and reduce infections in these patients
