Abstract

Rapid advances in information technology, especially in data management, encourage many educational institutions to adopt technology-based systems to improve operational efficiency. The Informatics Study Program at Musi Charitas Catholic University (UKMC) faces challenges in the process of managing student thesis data which is still done manually, so it requires a lot of time and energy. To overcome this, a web-based system for thesis management was developed that utilizes REST API technology with the Laravel framework for the backend and NuxtJs for the frontend. By using REST API, this system can exchange data in JSON format more efficiently through the internet, facilitating communication between internal and external systems. This system is designed to simplify student thesis management, including registration, mentoring, and thesis examination. Based on the research results, the implementation of a web-based thesis management system with REST API technology has proven to be effective and running well, helping to reduce administrative burdens and accelerate services to students and lecturers in managing theses in the UKMC Informatics Study Program.
