Abstract

Pregnancy and delivery are special moments for women. Indeed, not all women can get through a normal delivery, because of medical problem or not, and so, sectio caesarea (SC) became an alternative delivery method nowadays. The process of giving birth in this way goes through pre-op, intra-op and post-op stages. During pre-op, psychological and physiological changes occur. Psychological changes in the form of anxiety which have an impact on physiological changes such as increased blood pressure,increased breathing frequency. Meanwhile, during intra-op, there is anesthesia and surgery. In the post-op, physiological changes occur due to an incision in the abdominal wall which causes pain. A high level of anxiety during pre-op SC will affect the perception of post-op SC pain. The higher the pre-op anxiety level, the higher the post-op pain scale
