Abstract

Keywords: Family Support; Hypertension; Healthy Lifestyle. Background: Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure above 140 mmHg and an increase in diastolic blood pressure above 90 mmHg. Lifestyle determines the survival of people with hypertension, non-adherence to medication or a healthy lifestyle can exacerbate the signs and symptoms of hypertension. Family is one of the supporting factors, determining the adherence of a person with hypertension to lead a healthy life. Purpose: to determine the relationship between family support and adherence to a healthy lifestyle in hypertension sufferers in the Palembang Social Health Center area. Method: This research is included in the type of quantitative research, sampling using purposive sampling technique, with 57 respondents. Data analysis used in this study was Kendall's tau b. Results: The results showed that there was a relationship between family support and adherence to a healthy lifestyle, with a p-value of 0.001.
