Abstract
Background: Hypertension is an increase in blood pressure, namely a condition where systolic blood pressure is > 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure is > 90 mmHg. Hypertension can cause heart attacks, heart failure, stroke and kidney disease, so there is a need for pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy such as (slow deep breathing) which aims to help regulate breathing, increase oxygen supply, oxygen levels in the tissues and stimulate the release of endorphins, as well as stimulate the nervous system. autonomic to lower blood pressure. Objective: to analyze nursing care by applying slow deep breathing to hypertension sufferers Method: Using a case study design with the application of slow deep breathing to the population, namely hypertension sufferers in RT 27 Sukarami Village, with a total of 3 respondents. Results: After implementing nursing care with slow deep breathing which was delivered for 3 consecutive days, the results of patient 1 from 185/100mmHg decreased to 164/97mmHg, patient 2 from 171/109 experienced a decrease to 128/93mmHg and patient 3 from 131/ 84 experienced a decrease to 121/83mmHg. Conclusion: The application of nursing care by adding Slow deep breathing therapy can reduce blood pressure Suggestion: Application can be an alternative in managing hypertension, apart from taking regular medication and visiting the health service manager
