Abstract

Nurses are a form of helping profession with a high prevalence of burnout when working compared to other professions. Burnout experienced by nurses can theoretically be overcome or reduced with personal resources and leadership styles. Previous research stated that one form of personal resource that exists in individuals is self-efficacy and one of the existing organizational leadership styles is transformational leadership, where these two aspects are said to be quite effective in reducing burnout. The purpose of this study is to determine the role of self-efficacy and transformational leadership perception towards burnout in nurses in Indonesia. This research is a quantitative research. Samples from the study were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The respondents from this study consisted of 111 nurses who worked in hospitals, both private and government in Indonesia, who had met the criteria. From the results of the multiple linear regression analysis that has been carried out, this study obtained the result that simultaneously self-efficacy and transformational leadership perception have a significant role in burnout in nurses. This study also showed that partially self-efficacy had a positive and significant role in burnout in nurses, while the perception of transformational leadership did not have a significant role in burnout in nurses
