Abstract

Measuring workload is very important because with the lowest workload we can find out the level of productivity produced. All roof tile making processes in this business are carried out by only 1 person. The problem in this research is the high workload experienced by operators but the amount of product produced is not appropriate. Existing problems were analyzed using the Cardiovascular Load and Full Time Equivalent methods. From CVL measurements, it can be seen that the fatigue experienced by operators is 37%, which means workers need improvement. By utilizing the FTE method, researchers can find out the good working time for working on one unit of roof tiles in each production process. With a total standard time of 17 minutes and an FTE value of 2.11, an additional workforce of 1 person is needed for more optimal results. Improvements were made by implementing a standard time of 21 days in accordance with effective working time, as well as increasing the workforce by one person employed daily. From the results of the improvements, it was found that productivity in roof tile manufacturing increased by 45% and the workload experienced by operators was reduced by 25%.
