Abstract

Bookstagram, a part of Instagram that provides an opportunity for the book lovers around the world to deliver their opinions or review literary works. Instagram users are attracted to join the Bookstagram community because of its engaging visual graphics, the potential to connect with others, and the opportunity to review books. However, there are limited studies concerned with the discussion of using Bookstagram in the educational context. As Bookstagram potentially facilitates the users to utilize their critical thinking in delivering thoughts on various reading genres and it is essential for the students to have good critical thinking skills for supporting their learning achievement including English, thus, the investigation of Bookstagram in various settings is worth conducting. This research explores the impacts of Bookstagram use on the critical thinking skills of senior high school students. This case study involved four senior high school students that ever participated on Bookstagram. The participants were selected through a convenience sampling technique. The researcher employed interview and documentation to collect the data and applied Miles and Huberman Model that covers data collection, data condensation, data display, and data conclusion to analyze the data. This research is expected to contribute to the education field, especially ELT.
