Abstract

In this study discusses the design of measuring devices for the use of diesel fuel. The design of this tool is done by value engineering method. The process begins with the information phase by conducting interviews and market research. Then the creative phase by making design ideas and combining them. Then enter the evaluation phase to determine the highest rating value of the design combination. Then enter the analysis phase to determine the components of the tool. Then enter the recommendation phase where the researcher conducts. Then enter the development phase to determine the cost of production. Then enter the recommendation phase to describe the flow meter tool that has been made. From testing the flow meter tool, it showed that there were no leaks in the hose, the parameters for reading the flow rate were good, there were no errors on the screen, visually there was no damage to the box due to vibration and all cables remained connected to the controller both when the ship's engine was not running and when the engine was the ship has been turned on.
