Abstract
Background : It is important for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients undergoing hemodialysis (HD) to monitor blood pressure. Intradialysis blood pressure can experience fluctuations, namely increasing or decreasing blood pressure. This increase in blood pressure is caused by excess fluid volume which is characterized by an increase in body weight / Interdialytic Weight Gain (IDWG), while the decrease in blood pressure is due to the ultrafiltration rate exceeding the plasma filling rate during HD which causes the body to excrete a lot of fluid. Objective : Determine the relationship between IDWG and intradialysis blood pressure in CKD patients undergoing HD Methods : This research uses a correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. There were 38 respondents and sampling in this study used consecutive sampling technique. The measuring instruments in this study used a stethoscope and sphygmomanometer as well as digital weight scales that had been calibrated and the results were recorded on an observation sheet. Analysis of research data used the Kendall Tau. Result : There was no relationship IDWG and intradialysis blood pressure in CKD patients. who underwent HD (p value = 0.987) Conclusion : The majority of respondents were elderly (> 55 years) totaling 20 (52.6%) respondents, 20 (52.6%) respondents were male, 15 (39.5%) respondents had low and medium education, duration of HD > 7 months as many as 30 (78.9%) respondents, mild IDWG (64.9%) as many as 25 (65.8%) respondents, and stage I hypertension (42.1%) as many as 16 (42.1%) respondents. The results of the Kendall Tau test showed that there was no relationship between IDWG and intradialysis blood pressure in CKD patients undergoing HD. Suggestion : Respondents maintain and improve their ability to limit fluids, food and a low salt diet.
