Abstract

The library is an information service provider institution, which has an important role in students' information needs. In meeting the information needs of library students, library are required to improve services by utilizing information technology to make it more efficient and optimal. In this case study, Xaverius Maria Palembang Junior High School itself still has a manual system. Where searching for book titles and borrowing books from the library still requires students to come to the library. This of course has an effect on time efficiency. So a website-based library system was built with a book title search system using the Vector Space Model (VSM) algorithm, which is a search algorithm with high precision and fast time. The result of this research is that the Vector Space Model algorithm can be applied to search for book titles in the Xaverius Maria Palembang Junior High School library.
