Abstract

Background : Sectio caesarea is a surgical procedure between the abdominal wall and uterus to save the mother and baby because the mother cannot perform vaginal delivery. In patients who will undergo sectio caesarea surgery, an emotional reaction may appear, such as preoperative anxiety. One of the ways of handling anxiety that has been done so far is non-pharmacology with istighfar dhikr therapy techniques. Objective This study aims to determine the effect of giving istighfar dhikr therapy on the anxiety level of preoperative sectio caesarea patients at Siti Fatimah Hospital, South Sumatra Province. Methods : This research is quantitative research. The design used in this study was Pre-Experiment using a one group pre post test design and the number of respondents was 35 with purposive sampling method and the research instrument used the Amsterdam preoperative anxiety and information scale (APAIS). Result : The mean anxiety level of preoperative sectio caesarea before istighfar dhikr was 71.994 with a minimum value of 63.3% and a maximum value of 83.3% while the mean anxiety level after istighfar dhikr was 54.80 with a minimum value of 36.7% and a maximum value of 80.0%. Conclusion : There is an effect of the technique of giving istighfar dhikr therapy on reducing anxiety levels in preoperative sectio caesarea patients at Siti Fatimah Hospital, South Sumatra Province in 2023 (p.value = 0.000). Suggestion : It is expected to improve services to the community, especially preoperative sectio caesarea patients in overcoming preoperative sectio caesarea anxiety by using istighfar dhikr therapyIt is expected to improve services to the community, especially preoperative sectio caesarea patients in overcoming preoperative sectio caesarea anxiety by using istighfar dhikr therapy.
