Abstract

Background: The examination of Hemoglobin and Leukocyte using K2 EDTA and K3EDTA anticoagulant tubes has been conducted at the RSUD Gandus laboratory. However, it has not been known whether the use of both two types of tubes caused differences in the examination results. Objective: To determine the Difference between Hemoglobin and the Leukocyte Count Examination Results using K2 EDTA and K3 EDTA Anticoagulant Tubes. Method: This research utilized analytical observation. The samples involved 42 people, including inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sampling technique used total sampling process and the data that had been obtained were analyzed using the T-test. Result: The measurement of hemoglobin levels using K2 EDTA tubes resulted a median value of 13,3 g%, a minimum value of 10,8 g%, and a maximum value of 17,20 g%. Meanwhile, the measurement results of hemoglobin levels using K3 EDTA tubes resulted a median value of 13,4g%, a minimum value of 10,80 g%, and a maximum value of 17,10g%. The measurement results of leukocyte levels using K2 EDTA tubes resulted a median value of 6.9 x 103/mm3, and a maximum value of 14,6 x 103/mm3. On the other hand, the measurement results of hemoglobin levels using K3 EDTA tubes resulted a median value of 7,1 x 103/mm3, a minimum value of 4,6 x 103/mm3, and a maximum value of 14,8 x 103/mm3. The independent T-test results for both K2 EDTA and K3 EDTA > 0,05 (K2 0,094 and K3 0,140). Conclusion: There is no difference between the hemoglobin and leukocyte count examination results using K2 EDTA dan K3 EDTA Suggestion: In order to further confirm the hypothesis, it is highly advisable to conduct the examination through other analytical examination.
