Abstract

The Belimo Food Industry factory is engaged in the production of crackers and kemplang under the Belimo brand. In the observations made, there were still long queues in the packing process section of the press machine which were not yet optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research to improve performance and reduce waiting time. The method used in this research is the QUEUE method using Arena software so that it can provide an optimal solution that can optimize the performance of the queuing system on the press machine using computer simulation using Arena Software. The results of the research show that the repair scenario can minimize waiting time, with the initial condition that there is a buildup with a queue waiting time of 58,273 minutes. In the condition of repair scenario 1, the queue waiting time is 26,830 minutes, it is able to reduce the queue waiting time by 60%. In the condition of repair scenario 2 the queue waiting time of 14,562 minutes can reduce the queue waiting time by 80% and in the conditions of improvement scenario 3 the queue waiting time of 12,483 minutes can reduce the queue waiting time by 85%.
