Abstract

Literacy is a social event that involves certain skills, which are needed to convey and obtain information in written form. The research location was determined at SDK Mitra Penabur Palembang because the school was involved in writing literacy activities there and it was confirmed that literacy activities were taking place. Based on the background, the researcher formulated the problem, namely: What is the Writing Literacy ability of VB Class Students at SDK Mitra Penabur Palembang. This research aims to produce texts for the writing literacy movement skills of class VB students in elementary schools, especially at SDK Mitra Penabur Palembang. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research, namely research that finds facts or phenomena from the understanding of the people involved in the research. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The subject of this research is the school principal and the object is the results of the interview. The results of the research found that in the literacy aspect of writing there were several children who were not able to write well, it could be seen from the results of the students' writing that there were errors in using punctuation marks, inappropriate writing structures, and not understanding the correct use of language. It was found that some children already had good writing literacy skills, but some students were not yet able to apply the correct use of punctuation, writing structure and language.
