Abstract

This study aims to provide an overview of the emotional dynamics of adolescents whose parents are divorced. The theoretical perspective in this study uses the Emergency Canon theory which reveals that emotion occurs when the thalamus sends a message to the brain in response to a stimulus, producing a physiological reaction. The subjects in this study were male adolescents aged between 12 to 21 years and had experienced parental divorce, the choice of subjects at that age was because at that age adolescents tended to have unstable emotions in their development and experience changing emotional dynamics. when his parents divorced. This research was conducted in Palembang with a total of 3 subjects. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. how to obtain subjects by determining the appropriate criteria for this study. The data analysis technique used in this study is Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The results of the study show that adolescents who experience parental divorce experience various emotional dynamics, the forms of emotional dynamics that occur vary depending on certain external and internal conditions of the adolescent.
