Abstract

Masturbation is sexual activity that is done with the help of hands or tools to get sexual satisfaction. From the large number of incidents of men who masturbate where it will have an impact on one's concentration and health problems such as fatigue, pelvic pain, pain in the testicles, and hair loss. This study aims to explore the experience of men in controlling masturbation behavior. This study uses a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling and snowball sampling as many as 6 participants. Research data analysis using Colaizzi. The results showed 7 themes, namely (1) Perceptions of masturbation, (2) initial exposure, (3) feelings felt from masturbation, (4) causes of masturbation, (5) negative effects of masturbation, (6) attempts to control masturbation, (7) inhibition when reducing masturbation. Suggestion: The research results are expected to be an additional source of reference in the field of Nursing and as research related to the problem of masturbation behavior.
