Abstract

Background:. Personal hygiene is an effort to maintain health and maintain personal hygiene. If personal hygiene needs are not carried out properly, this will make it easier for the elderly to be susceptible to diseases such as skin diseases, infectious diseases, oral diseases and gastrointestinal diseases, or can even eliminate the function of certain body parts. Objective: To find out the description of the personal hygiene behavior of the elderly Method: Descriptive survey with descriptive analysis and a total sample of 30 respondents using total sampling technique. Results: Personal hygiene, good skin hygiene, 20 respondents (66.7%), 22 respondents (73.3%) sufficient hair hygiene, 15 respondents (50.0%) good dental and oral hygiene, 27 respondents (90.0%) good eye hygiene, 22 respondents (73.3%) good ear hygiene, 28 respondents (93.3%) good hand, foot and nail hygiene, 16 respondents (53.3%) good nasal hygiene enough behavior 20 respondents (66.7%). Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, it was found that there were respondents with sufficient personal hygiene behavior. Suggestion: improve the personal hygiene behavior of the elderly at the Harapan Kita Palembang Social Home
