Abstract

The previous research has shown that learning using video conferencing has an impact on mental health, which one is anxiety. This study aims to determine the relationship between zoom fatigue and student anxiety during online learning in the new normal. This research uses correlational quantitative research method with a sample of 107 students obtained from purposive sampling method. The research variables are zoom fatigue and anxiety using the Zoom Exhaustion Scale and the anxiety scale on the DASS-42. The results obtained a value of 0.000 (P ≤ 0,05) meaning that there is a very significant relationship between zoom fatigue and anxiety in students during online learning.Correlation coefficient value of 0,736 (strong) with a positive direction which indicates high zoom fatigue results in high anxiety. The results of this study are expected to be considered by educational institutions to create programs/policies that can reduce student anxiety due to zoom fatigue.
