Abstract

This study tries to determine the impact of career plateau on job satisfaction retail store employees in the city of Palembang. This study uses independent variables career plateau (X), and job satisfaction (Y). Data collection in this study used a questionnaire method that was distributed to 150 employees of retail stores in the city of Palembang with a purposive sampling method. While the analysis is done by processing data using SPSS 19.0 for windows. The independent variable Career Plateau (X) positively influences job satisfaction (Y) retail store employees in Palembang. This shows that the greater career plateau that occurs it will be able to increase job satisfaction of retail store employees in the city of Palembang, this shows that the hypothesis in this study was rejected. This can occur because the researcher did not do a separation between structural plateau and job content plateau so the respondents allegedly did not understand the purpose of the distributed questionnaire.
