Abstract

Background : According to WHO (World Health Organization) in 2013 the amount of Scizophrenia sufferers increased thus 450 million people around the world. Scizophrenia patient encounter reccurence which is disobedience to take medication. The main factor which influenced Medical Adherence for Scizophrenia patient are Family Knowledge, Economic Social, Family Behaviour, Motivation, Memorries and also information from health workers. Purpose : this research aims for knowing the correlation between knowledge and family behaviour with Medical Adherence for Scizophrenia patient at ErnaldiBahar Polyclinic Hospital Palembang Method : This Research used Analytical Survey method with Cross Sectional Approaching and the amount of sample is 98 Respondents taken with Purposive Technique Sampling Result : Statistic Test Result of Chi Square for Knowledge has been obtained with result ρ value = 0,013, and for family behaviour is ρ value = 0,008 which if it gets compared with the value of α = 0,05, therefore ρ value ≤ 0,05, so the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) accepted. It means that there is a meaningful correlation between Family knowledge and Family behaviour with Medication Adherence for Scizophrenia patient at ErnaldiBahar Polyclinic Hospital Palembang in 2016 according to this research, it expected for scizophrenia families to increase the knowledge about Scizophrenia and the family should behave positively toward the family member who suffers Scizophrenia, peculiarly in medication adherence and asking the family member to check up intensively at the Hospital so the patient would be able to reach the maximum health degrees
