Abstract
Background:Parents can influence the nature and behavior of the child, the child will be better depending on the pattern of care providedparenting given. Indirectly authoritarian parents will make children rebellious and mischievous, eventually the child becomes aggressive and affect to academic achievement. The abuse of using gadgets will have an impact on the child being aggressive. Children who are addicted to gadgets will be hard to concentrate while studying and influencing academic achievement. Aim: This study aims to determine the relationship patterns of parenting and the use of gadgets and academic achievement and aggressive behavior VIII class teenagers in junior Inaba Palembang. Method: This research uses quantitative research correlation study design using total sampling technique with the number of respondents 49 using statistical test fisher exact test, kendall tau and koefisien phi. Results: The results showed most respondents with authoritative parenting are 20 (40.8%), use of gadgets by category often most that 26 (53.1%), aggressive behavior most open aggressive are 37 (75.5%) and learning achievement with very good categories at most are 40 (81.6%). There is no correlation between parents' parenting and achievement (p-value 0,727 and φ 0.119), there is no correlation between parenting parents with aggressive behavior (p-value 0.068 and φ 0.418), there is no correlation between the use of gadgets with achievement study (p-value 0.104 and τ -0.235) and there is no relationship between the use of gadgets with aggressive behavior (p-value 0,608 and φ 0.180). Suggestion: parents should be able to apply a consistent pattern of care for children and expected parents can control their children in the use of the gadget.
