Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus number is increasing in the world also in Indonesia. IDF 2017 stated fot 430 millions people, this number expected increase into 629 millions people. Cardiovascular complication is the main reason for death number. Giving an education can be the major key for preventing the disease and complication of diabetic miletus, this requires the role of nurse for giving the education so the patient can be independent for doing the prevention action Aim: This research is objected for analyzing the relation of nurse role as educator with the cardiovascular complocation prevention action to the patient on Health center of Kertapati Palembang. Method: The research used quantitative method (Observation) by approaching cross Sectional and sample taken from 42 respondent. Result: Result of kendal-tau method obtained with no relation between nurse function as educator for cardiovascular complications prevention action of diabetes mellitus patient with value 0,092. Suggestion: These supposed to control sugar blood by limiting the consumption of food and drink which contain sugar, fat and salt, no alcohol consumption, stop smoking also increase consuming fruit and vegetable.
