Abstract

Cinde Market is the first market built in the city of Palembang after Indonesian independence. This market was built in 1957 and was the first market to be built on land because previously the market in Palembang was a market built on the riverbank. This market is a market that is the main characteristic of Palembang city. Because the age is quite old and some of the construction found on the market is no longer possible, the Palembang city government plans to revitalize Cinde Market. This market will be built by bringing together traditional malls and modern malls so that in addition to accommodating buying and selling activities that are followed by the development of today's lifestyle. This market is planned to use 3 land which will be built skywalk as a link between buildings. This market can also be used as a recreational activity supported by facilities such as playgrounds, restaurants, food courts, and others. The theme applied in this market development is "Buying and Selling Activities". Which can be realized with a post modern architectural style with the concept of metaphor.
