Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of compensation and workload on the intention to stay among tire sales employees in Palembang City. The research was motivated by the phenomenon of increasing job dissatisfaction and declining employee loyalty in the sales sector. A quantitative approach was employed, with purposive sampling used to select permanent employees who have worked for a minimum of one year. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 135 respondents and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that compensation has a positive and significant effect on employees’ intention to stay, indicating that fair and adequate compensation increases employee retention. In contrast, workload has a negative and significant effect, suggesting that excessive workload reduces employees’ willingness to remain in the organization. These results highlight the importance of developing effective compensation strategies and workload management to enhance employee retention in competitive industries.
