Abstract

The development of information technology provides a very important for information exchange. Image are visual shaped information that can give more than one or two words making it a universal language. An Advance camera technology can produce image with high resolution. This of course requires a large memory storage area as well. One way to solve the problem is with image compression. Compression can reduce the file size so as to save the use of storage media. In this resertch apply huffman method to do decompression of image. The results obtained in this study showed that 30 BMP image with 24 bit color depth that have been tested successfully perform the compression process. The image of the decompression result can be restored like the original image without changing te image quality.
