Abstract

Structure is a core element in mastering English writing skills. PPP learning strategy provides a chain of learning steps from presentation, practice, and production. This research aims to determine whether using the PPP learning strategy influences students’ structure awareness in writing. This research design used quantitative data and experimental one-group only. The participants of this research included 29 students from Rhetorica A and Rhetorica B in the seminary in Palembang who joined into one group. Participants were selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included a writing test and a questionnaire. The writing test results were analyzed using the SPSS program while the questionnaire was included in tabulation. The findings indicated that the PPP learning strategy influenced students' structure awareness, evidenced by a significant difference between pre-test and post-test mean scores. Additionally, the research explored students’ perceptions of the PPP learning strategy. The students tend to feel happy and enjoy the learning process using the PPP learning strategy. In conclusion, the alternative hypothesis of this research is accepted.
