Abstract

Background : The caesarean section often causes anxiety for patients, delivery using this method carries a 25 times greater risk of death and an 80 times higher risk of infection than vaginal delivery. One non-pharmacological therapy to reduce anxiety is music therapy. Music therapy is a distraction technique that can be used, because music can reduce physiological pain, stress and anxiety by diverting a person's attention from pain. Objectives : To determine the effect of providing Kitaro "Koi" instrumental music therapy on changes in anxiety levels in pre-operative Sectio Caesarea patients in the Obstetrics Inpatient Room. Methods: This type of research uses a semi quasi experimental design with a pre test - post test control group design. Sampling method Purvosive sampling The sample consists of 2 groups, namely 20 intervention groups and 20 control groups. Using the HARS scale, with comparative bivariate analysis using the Wilcoxon and Mann Withney tests Results : The results of data analysis using the Wilcoxon test obtained a p value of 0.025, which means less than 0.05, and the Mann Whitney test also obtained a p value of 0.048, which means less than 0.05. Conclusion : The results of the analysis can be interpreted that providing intervention provides significant changes and influences the anxiety level of patients who experience caesarean section Suggestion : It is hoped that the research that has been carried out can help reduce anxiety levels in pre-op Sectio Caesarea patients
