Abstract

Background : Blood glucose checks are currently carried out automatically using the Glucose Oxidase – Proxidase Aminoantypyrin (GOD-PAP) method, Hexokinase or by means of Point of Care Testing (POCT). The standard method recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) is the GOD-PAP method. With the examination material used for glucose examination using serum, heparin plasma. But there are still many clinical laboratories, health centers and communities that use Point of care testing (POCT) as a glucose meter using capillary blood samples or whole blood. Objective : Knowing Blood Glucose Levels When Using a Chemical Analyzer and POCT. Methods : This research is an analytic observation with a cross sectional approach using a total sampling technique. The research subjects were 31 students who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results : The results showed that blood glucose levels when using the Chemical Analyzer for an average mean result was 83.07 mg/dL and the distribution of Sd data was 13.76. Glucose level when using POCT, the average mean result was 104.19 mg/dL and the Sd data distribution was 17.48. There is a significant difference in the results of examining glucose levels when using the Chemical Analyzer and POCT, with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05. Conclusion : Based on the research it was concluded that there was a significant difference in the results of examining glucose levels when using the Chemical Analyzer and POCT. Suggestion : For future researchers it is recommended to use a larger sample, and it is necessary to carry out further research on fasting samples. and it is advisable to use other tools, and use a variety of subjects. Keywords : Current blood glucose, Chemical Analyzer, POCT.
