Abstract

Background : Diabetes mellitus is a progressive chronic disease characterized by the body's inability to metabolize carbohydrates, fats and proteins leading to hyperglycemia (high blood glucose levels). Reduced or no insulin makes glucose retained in the blood and causes an increase in blood sugar, while cells become deficient in glucose which is needed for the survival and function of cells. Sports exercises that are suitable for type II diabetes mellitus sufferers, namely low impact aerobics, this exercise which uses the rhythm of music to function as a guide for gymnastic movements, providing motivation and enthusiasm for gymnastics participants. Low Impack Aerobic Exercise is suitable for reducing type II diabetes mellitus because it is an exercise that has light movements and can lower blood sugar levels as a result of increased use of glucose from these exercise exercises and when the body moves actively, the muscles used to move the body also use more glucose than resting muscle. Objective : To determine the application of low impact aerobic exercise to reducing blood sugar levels in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. Method : Counseling on scientific papers by nurses using the case study method which begins with the observation of 2 respondents who have type II diabetes mellitus. Results : According to the researchers, the results of this study found that after being given low impact aerobic exercise to clients 1 and client 2 who suffered from diabetes mellitus 3 times for 1 week with a duration of 30 minutes, it decreased with the results of the implementation of family nursing, low impact aerobic exercise. it was concluded that the implementation of low impact aerobic exercise could reduce blood sugar levels between results and research. Suggestion : It is hoped that in subsequent research, it can be used more effectively and efficiently in the implementation of low impact aerobic exercise.
