Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by dengue virus which is spread through the bite of Aedes Aegypti and Aedes Albopictus mosquitoes infected with dengue virus. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, in 2020, data on dengue cases reached 103.781 cases. The data obtained were 36.47% of children 5-14 years of age affected by dengue and South Sumatra in 2020 as many as 2.815 cases Palembang 435 cases and Sukarami 73 cases, the most Most experienced by school age children 6-12 years as many as 27 cases. So it is important to prevent dengue fever by implementing 3M Plus. For this reason, attitudes and behaviors are needed to support efforts to prevent dengue in children aged 6-12 years in carrying out 3M Plus. Objective: To know the description of mother's attitude and behavior in implementing 3M plus prevention against DHF in school age children 6-12 years. Method: The research design is descriptive with a total sample of 44 respondents. The sampling technique used is total sampling, the data collection tool in this study is a questionnaire, and the data analysis used in this study is univariate analysis. Results: The age of the respondents is 24-49 years old, the highest education level is SMA 22 respondents (50%). Most of the work did not work 32 respondents (72.7%). Attitude enough 33 respondents (75%). Lack of behavior 37 respondents (84.1). Suggestion: It is hoped that it can improve good attitudes and behavior regarding the importance of applying 3M Plus for the prevention of DHF, especially in children aged 6-12 years.
