Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of profitability and leverage on earnings management in consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019-2021. The type of research used is quantitative associative type. Source of data used is secondary data. The sample used in this research is purposive sampling. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS version 25. The results show that profitability has a negative and significant effect on earnings management and leverage has a positive and significant effect on earnings management in consumer goods companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2019-2021.
