Abstract

Forecasting is an analytical activity carried out to determine the amount of demand in the future, with this information the right strategy can be determined for further planning. Vermicelli products are the main products produced at the Cap Udang Vermicelli Factory which has a large number of requests. To predict sales demand from consumers, proper forecasting is needed so that the production process runs smoothly and consumer demand can be fulfilled on time. In this study, using the moving average, weight moving average and linear regression methods to calculate sales forecasts for Vermicelli Products in next year. After calculating using 3 forecasting methods, the results of sales forecasting for each method are obtained. Of the three types of methods used, the most appropriate method was chosen to calculate the sales forecast for Vermicelli Products at the Cap Udang Bintang Vermicelli Factory. The Linear Regression method was chosen because it has the smallest Mean Squared Error (MSE) value. The Mean Squared Error value for the Linear Regression method is 30.284.720,06.
