Abstract

At this time, every company, especially a company engaged in manufacturing will be forced to be more efficient and effective, not only to survive but also be able to compete so that receive productivity and maximum profit. Determining the design of working conditions in the company includes designing physical condition, the organization of work (nutrition and provision of additional wage rate). All of these for to improve the profitability of the company, worker productivity and worker comfort in doing his job. This research is a case study in the Home Industry Gordyn Multi Interindo in Palembang that do not have good working conditions, because the temperature of the heat, as well as circulation and good lighting. The design uses the science of ergonomics working conditions and appropriate technology approach. Results of this research is the design of the physical condition of the sewing room with the addition of windows, vents, adding light and transparent roof, in order to lower the temperature, improve lighting and good air cycle. In addition, supplementary nutrition and improvements in the organization of work, so that the rate of 53.19% worker fatigue, decreased to 34.33% and an increase in productivity of 23 sets to 27 sets per month. Increased productivity level also has positive effect on the level of profitability of the company from Rp. 8.07775 million to Rp. 10.11175 million. Welfare and health of workers is also getting better with production target so as to provide additional wage and health workers are supported by healthy conditions of work space, comfortable and resting and caloric needs are met well.
