Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health in Indonesia currently still requires special attention for the agencies concerned. The work environment has a direct influence on employees who carry out the production process within the company. Minister of Health Regulation No. 70 of 2016 concerning industrial work environment health standards and requirements regulates the prevention of health problems and environmental pollution in the industry. Company PT. Shima Prima is a company located at Jalan Lorong Sebatok No. 76 A, Duku, Ilir Timur III District, Palembang City. This company operates 8 hours a day and is closed on Sundays. PT. Shima Prima Utama, the Electroplating process, has a land area of 123 m2, has very minimal lighting on the production floor, and the working environment conditions are not good. This study uses the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) method in order to identify work environment hazards and control risks to minimize work accidents that occur in the Electroplating work area. In addition, this study also uses a method of measuring physical factors to comply with Permenkes No. 70 of 2016 by evaluating and proposing designs on lighting and temperature in the work environment.
