Abstract

PT. Semen Baturaja (Persero) Tbk. is one of the companies engaged in the manufacturing industry sector. The process of making cement itself consists of several raw materials in several categories, namely, main raw materials, supporting raw materials and additional raw materials..We get problems that occur with iron sand raw materials, one of which is the frequent buildup of iron sand raw materials and causes storage costs to arise and will affect the total inventory cost. Because too much amount will cause waste and increase costs for storage and will affect inventory costs but if there is too little production it will be hampered. Therefore, in controlling the procurement of iron sand raw material inventory, you must determine the reorder point, safety stock, how much should be ordered. One of the most widely used inventory models is the economic order quantity model.So after calculating the economical order point is 60,484 tons. The total cost of iron sand material inventory when calculated according to the EOQ is IDR 269,400,158, while the total cost using the company policy method is IDR. 279,363,070. And it is known that the amount of safety raw materials at PT Semen Baturaja based on past experience was 4500 tons with a reorder point when the raw materials totaled 5000 tons.
