Abstract

Vocational High Schools are focused to prepare their students to be ready to work, however preparing middle-level workforce has so far not been optimal. From the fact that there are still many Vocational High School (SMK) graduates who are not ready to work skillfully and in accordance with the majors taken during school. This research was conducted to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and work readiness of SMK Xaverius Palembang's students. Work readiness is the level or condition that must be achieved by the SMK students in the process of individual development at the level of mental growth. Self efficacy is the belief of the Xaverius Palembang Vocational High School students that the students are capable of carrying out actions there will produce the impact they expect. This type of research is quantitative research. The subject in researach amounted to 106 students. The data collection method uses two scales: self-efficacy and job readiness. Analysis of data used with the correlation test product moment with the help of programe Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 23.0 for windows. The results showed that there was a very significant relationship between self-efficacy and work readiness in Xaverius Palembang Vocational High School students with a result value of r = 0.735 p = 0.000 (p <0.05).
