Abstract

Background : Examination of uric acid levels was carried out in three stages, namely at the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytic stages. Uric acid examination using serum specimens that were delayed 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours using the Biosystem BA.200 tool. Objective : To determine the difference in uric acid levels that were delayed for 1.5 hours and 2.5 hours with the uricase method. Methods : This type of research is pre-experimental. The research was conducted at the Palembang Health Laboratory Center. The subjects of this research were 22 level IV students who were taken using the Total Sampling technique. Data were analyzed using paired T Test. Results: In the examination of uric acid levels, which was delayed for 1.5 hours, the average was 4.1373 mg/dL, which was delayed for 2.5 hours, the average result was 4.2845 mg/dL. The test results showed that there was a significant difference in the results of uric acid levels that were delayed for 1.5 hours and delayed for 2.5 hours with the uricase method, p value = 0.000 (<0.05). Conclusion : It can be concluded that this study has a significant difference Suggestion: For uric acid studies, the serum requirements that are delayed should not exceed 2 hours of delay
