Abstract

Korean culture has become part of the lifestyle of the Indonesian people, this can be seen from the proliferation of films, music, fashion, and Korean specialties. This study aims to determine the relationship between celebrity worship and cultural acculturation in kpopers. This research uses correlational quantitative method with a sample of 227 kpopers obtained by using purposive sampling method. This research consists of celebrity worship and cultural acculturation variables using a Google Form as a data collection tool. Hypothesis testing is done by using the Pearson Product Moment Test. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between celebrity worship and cultural acculturation simultaneously with a correlation coefficient value of 0.448 (moderate and positive) and a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) which indicates there is a significant relationship so that it can be stated that the higher the celebrity worship , the cultural acculturation that occurs also increases, and vice versa if the lower celebrity worship , the cultural acculturation that occurs also decreases.
