Abstract

Background: Covid-19 is a disease that attacks or infects the respiratory system tract, so it requires the use of a mask so as not to get infected, so obediently using a mask is important to prevent Covid-19 from ourselves, therefore good knowledge is needed too. Objective: The study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and adherence to using masks in preventing Covid-19 among students in Palembang Methods: This study uses the method the researcher uses is quantitative by using an analytical survey method with a cross sectional survey approach with a population of 232 respondents sampling technique Total sampling used 191 respondents analysis using the Kendall's Tau test Result: The results showed that the majority of respondents were pre-adult as many as 179 (93.7%), and many were female as many as 165 (86.4%), for the study program more nursing study programs 129 (67.5%), and semester learned a lot in semester 2 as many as 55 (28.8%). In terms of knowledge, the majority of respondents had good knowledge of 140 (73.3%), in obedience the majority did not comply with 173 (90.6%). In the relationship of knowledge and compliance, there is no relationship. Conclusion: There is no relationship between knowledge and adherence to using masks, the correlation coefficient (p Value = 0.914) and Tau value (-0.008) can be concluded and it can be concluded that in these results there is no relationship between knowledge and adherence to using masks. Suggestion: To further improve compliance with the use of masks, and always obey the Covid-19 protocol. Key Words: compliance, covid-19, knowledge, mask
