Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in the Pak Nok Oyster Mushroom Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) located on Jalan Noerdin Pandji, Sukajaya Village, RT 040 RW 008 No 059, Palembang, South Sumatra. The background of the research is that the sieving process is still simple and causes fatigue and work discomfort. Therefore, it is necessary to design a tool to facilitate sifting activities in order to reduce worker complaints, increase the productivity of the number of sacks and provide ergonomics. Based on the results of research using the Ergonomic Function Deployment (EFD) method, a sawdust sieve (AYASEYU) was designed with a frame and size made according to the calculation results and the wishes of the workers. After the tool was implemented, there was a subjective decrease in the workload of Nordic Body Map (NBM) complaints, the neck, hands, shoulders, hips, waist and legs decreased by 12.5% to 75%. Then the physical workload objectively decreased the average DNI by 54 beats/minute, the average DNK by 91.5 beats/minute, and NK by 37.5 beats/minute. While the average energy consumption of workers is 103.080229 Kcal/hour. The productivity of sifted sacks became 19 sacks with an average productivity of 5.15 which directly increased by 137.5%.
