Abstract

Coffee is one of the plantation commodities which is an important source of the economy of South Sumatra Province, but there are still many people who do not know about coffee education. The large number of potential coffee products in the South Sumatra area makes coffee an economic source for local entrepreneurs, coffee shops in South Sumatra, as well as personal consumption for coffee lovers, so the coffee business should be developed. The Coffee Center in Palembang is a place that is able to provide a place for people, especially coffee lovers, to enjoy coffee drinks, buy various types of coffee, and get education on the coffee processing process in one place. The facilities provided include a small-scale coffee garden planted in greenhouses, cafes, exhibition rooms, auditoriums, and coffee processing rooms consisting of drying, grinding, roasting, and storing coffee beans, as well as supporting facilities such as ATM Centers, food court, management room and service room. The theme applied to the design of the Coffee Center in Palembang is "Memories". The theme is supported by the concept of coffee beans and a metaphorical architectural approach.
