Abstract

This study aims to describe students' ability to write rhymes in the VC class at Baptist Elementary School Palembang in the 2021/2022 academic year. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The sources of data in the study are the results of student poetry. The research population is all VC class students with a total of 32 students. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses an analytical model (Miles & Huberman) which consists of three activities, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusions or verification. Triangulation in this study used researcher triangulation. Based on the results of data analysis shows that (1) 9 students get the very capable category with a percentage result of 28.1%, (2) 9 students get the capable category with a percentage result of 28.1%, (3) 11 students get a moderately capable category with the results the percentage of 34.3%, (4) 3 students get the category of underprivileged with a percentage of 9.3%. Therefore, according to the results of the average score, it can be concluded that the students' ability in writing rhymes is 82.7.
