Abstract

In Indonesia growing number of people with epilepsy that make epilepsy caused population increases. One of the factors that led to the increasing number of people with epilepsy are public ignorance about the disease and the lack of information technology to provide knowledge about the disease. In the current area globalization, information technology develops very rapidly. Existing information technology can be used to help resolve this issue. To help provide a diagnosis of the disease requires a computer application that has similar capabilities to an expert to be able to diagnose epilepsy. Based on this, the authors excited to conduct research with the title of an "Expert System for Diagnose Epilepsy" that using forward and backward chaining. Making this expert system using PHP programming and MYSQL as database. This research is expected to help people to diagnose epilepsy accompanied and get solution on this disease.
