Abstract

Occupational health and safety is an element that is quite important to build a good work system. Occupational health and safety will have a positive impact on improving the company's development. By implementing a good OSH system, companies can increase productivity and generate other positive impacts. PT Shima Prima Utama is an industry that produces various kinds of medical devices. In the implementation of the OHS management system at PT Shima Prima Utama, it is often encountered with various obstacles. The need for improvements in the K3 management system can help for better K3 implementation at PT Shima Prima Utama. Gap theory is a research method that comes from differences in the results of previous research, concepts, theories, data or problems in the field, which becomes a gap for further research. Gap theory research is used to find the boundaries that will be used in benchmarks of the OHS management system at PT Shima Prima Utama with the aim of creating improvements to the OHS management system at PT Shima Prima Utama. Based on the results of the research, PT Shima Prima Utama needs to make several improvements related to the K3 system, for example in terms of providing PPE and repairing existing work facilities.
