Abstract

In the current industrial era 4.0, the development of science and technology (IPTEK) is getting tougher so that company competition is getting tougher. In competitive competition, every company is competing to improve the quality of the products owned by the company. This research method uses data analysis techniques with quantitative descriptive approaches and qualitative descriptive approaches. The quantitative descriptive approach in this study uses the Statistical Process Control (SPC) method and individual control charts that are used to calculate or analyze a data problem whether the data is achieved or not, and what are the causes of not achieving a quality. there is still a lack of employee concentration when testing coal and the tools used are still poorly maintained (can cause quality errors/inappropriate). This can be seen in the Pareto diagram. The dominant causes of not achieving coal quality are the lack of concentration of employees when doing testing (lack of focus), the use of tools that are still minimal/less understanding when doing testing (too high engine temperature can cause coal content to decrease) and the type of coal is 48 the type of coal that contains the most water content and the lowest quality than the other types. To maintain the quality of coal, it is best to always supervise/check each work process unit in the company. The head of each production department, especially the Quality Control section, must always check or control and always provide direction to his employees (subordinates) and convey good communication that is easily accessible to his employees.
