Abstract
Erythrocytes is one of the hematological examinations. Erythrocyte examination is important to know someone has anemia. Examination of the number of erythrocytes consists of three stages, namely pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical which must be carried out according to procedures to get correct results. In the examination of erythrocytes using blood that is not frozen so use K2EDTA anticoagulant. The blood taken and stored in the K2EDTA tube must be homogenized so that the blood is normally distributed so that there is no precipitation process. Homogenization was carried out as many as 8 ways back and forth. In the process of deposition of blood that is allowed to stand without secondary homogenization, it will experience precipitation which takes place within 10 minutes, so the results obtained are incorrect. Objective: Knowing the Results of Examination of EDTA Blood Erythrocyte Count Without Secondary Homogenization and After Secondary Homogenization 8 Times. Methods: This type of research is pre-experimental with Static Group Comparison and the sample population examined is 33. The subject's venous blood was examined using the Sysmex KX-21 instrument with the Impedance method. The research was conducted at the UKMC Fikes Laboratory. The sample used in this study was UKMC Fikes students who were taken by total sampling the data were analyzed using the Paired T test. Results: On examination of the number of erythrocytes without secondary homogenization the average result was 5.97 x 106/µL, on examination of erythrocytes after secondary homogenization 8 times the average result was 4.63 x 106/µL. Conclusion: Based on the research, it was concluded that the test results showed a significant difference in the number of EDTA blood erythrocytes without secondary homogenization and 8 times after secondary homogenization with = 0.000 (<0.05). Sugestion: The study of examining the number of erythrocytes in the EDTA blood was left for less than 10 minutes. Kata kunci : Erythrocyte examination, homogenization
