Abstract

The tuition fees, better known as "SPP" as in the Indonesian acronym, is an important source of funds for an educational institutions such as schools, universities, and other educational institutions, especially for private state institutions. St. Joseph High School Lahat determine the amount of SPP in a negotiation between student’s parents and school. Some difficulties were experienced when the interviewer must determine the amount of tuition fees that will be negotiated while taking into account several aspects related to the real ability of student’s parents in a very limited timeframe before the interview. This study seeks the Information Technology Decision Support System (DSS) and Simple Additive weighting method (SAW) to provide a solution to the problem of determining the amount of the tuition fee. SAW method can be used in dealing with many aspects of the decision-making considerations by finding a weighted summation of the performance rating for each alternative with all its attributes. DSS is built with PHP (web-based) and MySQL database management system. The DSS software was be able to analyze parents data and generate amount of SPP for each student. By applying the SAW method, data analysis for determining the amount of SPP at St. Joseph High School can be run effectively.
