Abstract

Air Conditioner or better known as the AC is an equipment that serves to condition the temperature / air in a room. The existence of AC will makes more comfortable in the room with all weather conditions. Therefore, AC periodic maintenance is very important. But unfortunately, many of the owners AC underestimate AC treatment device. As a result, the AC started trouble and then become damaged. The problems caused by lack of knowledge about the air conditioner device. Expert System (Expert System) is a system that uses human knowledge that is input into a computer to solve specific problems that are usually worked by an expert. With this expert system any commoner can solve quite complicated problems that usually can only be solved with the help of the experts. In the application of expert systems there is a method to solve the problem for the uncertainty data, the methods that researchers use to these problems is the certainty factor. Researchers using such tool is Macromedia Dreamweaver, Notepad ++ and programming languages PHP, MySQL to manage database. This expert system application is web-based, so it can be accessed anywhere and This system can help the owner of AC solve the problem of damage that occurs in Air Conditioner device. The system is able to deliver results in the form of damage suffered, the cause of the damage, as well as solutions to overcome such defects. Researchers successfully implemented a web-based expert system with certainty factor method which can reaches 70% confidence level.
